Thursday Private Tram Tour and Dinner
For those arriving early, please join Dean John W. Boyer for a private tour of the Ring and dinner at the 10er Marie.  The 10er Marie is Vienna’s oldest wine tavern, founded in 1740.

Sunday Tour Options
All tours meet in front of the State Opera House at 1pm.  Buses will be provided for The Gugging and Cemetery Tours.  Guests will be on their own for lunch prior to the tours.

The Gugging:  After discovering several talented “Art Brut” or Outsider Artists amongst the patients, the Gugging became a dedicated art therapy center.  The grounds now contain a gallery, a museum, and a public studio. The tour will include the opportunity to meet the director and a few of the artists.  Please note that this tour will depart Vienna at approximately 1pm and return around 5pm.

Cemetery Tour:  See Vienna’s most famous cemeteries, including Kapuzinergruft, the burial site of Habsburg royalty since 1633;  St. Marx Cemetery, the burial site of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; and the Vienna Central Cemetery, the city’s largest cemetery.

Jewish Vienna:  Visit the Jewish cemetery in Währing and the Judenplatz, site of Vienna’s Jewish Museum and the city’s Holocaust Memorial known as the “Nameless Library.” Guests will take the tram to Währing.

Architectural Walking Tour:  See inner-city Vienna through the eyes of architects Adolf Loos and Otto Wagner.
